This trip came as a cheap christmas ticket from Frontier Airlines from SLC. Colorado is our friendly neighbor to the East with recreational enjoyment. So we packed our camera bags and woke up early to catch the bus down to the TRAX station.
A fresh layer of slippery snow welcomed us and delayed our bus, but in the end we made it safely to Denver without a hitch. We did not rent a car for this trip, so we relied on all public transportation/Uber rides combined with walking.
Our first dispensary stop was at MMJ America. As any rookie does their first time in a dispensary, we spent a ton of money, like kids in a candy store. Two other dispensaries were Native Roots downtown and LivWell. All had great options, and plenty of product. Gummies, drinks, tinctures, bud, all the yum yums.
We then retreated to our hotel room to be true lazy stoners and watch Friends from the bathtub.
The next morning we were greeted with a huge snowstorm. There were a few inches of the fluffly slippy stuff to make our Uber ride longer than usual into town. Carving through the snowstorm, we headed to Snooze Eatery for some morning grub. It was packed but we weren’t in a rush for a table. It is located in Union Station, a train station hub downtown Denver. It was quiet this day, but warm and still abuzz with people coming and going.
Snooze eatery was a fuzzy welcome sight after our frigid morning. Our breakfast was accompanied by mimosas and a chill vibe while watching the snow accumulate outside.
Making good use of the hop on, hop off bus that runs along 16th Street, we slipped through the bus and winding sidewalks.
Since we didn’t have enough for breakfast, we stopped into Wyncoop Downtown Denver Brewpub. We were offered a tour of the brewery, so we joined in with a few others to watch the process with an offering of samples to try.
At the end, we got a beer and filled our bellies for the next afternoon walk.
We ended up exploring the city for a few more hours, before ending our night at Peaks Lounge, a bar located atop the hotel Hyatt Regency. We drank some deliciously crafted cocktails with a dynamic and stunning view.
At this point, the Uber ride back was a blur of laughter and becoming too close to the Uber driver as Ronny and I blather away. Denver now has a special place in our hearts for its unconditional love and understanding.
