Heidi was the one who inspired this trip. She and I had wanted to shoot together in the red rock region for a while, and had a good excuse to make our way down to the Valley of Fire State Park, Ronny at the wheel.
With sunset fast approaching, we direct ourselves to Valley of Fire. Driving through the red rocks carved from wind was enchanting. A beautiful array of colors shone through the sandstone earth. The White Domes trail greeted us with pinks and oranges of every color.
After a little exploring, we headed back to the hotel in St George, Holiday Inn Express for the night, exhausted and eager to get to bed to try to get going as early as we could, vying for sunrise.
Sunrise came and went without us moving and later that morning we head back to the park, gear and dresses in tow.
A few hours of hiking and shooting passed and we had to wrap up for the day. Tired but fulfilled, we have our last evening in Mesquite.
The next morning we had to hightail it back home, daunted by the fact that we were taking ANOTHER 5 HR drive back home so quickly. Didn’t get to spend as long as I would have wished out in the pastels and periwinkles.
